SEOUL, Aug. 10 (Yonhap) -- The Cultural Heritage Administration and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced Tuesday that it will opened a digital promotional center called "Visit Korean Heritage Campaign" at Incheon Airport with Incheon International Airport Corporation.
The "Visit Korean Heritage Campaign" is a project to provide domestic and foreign tourists with information on Korea's cultural heritage sites and treasures in order to make tourists visit the relevant heritage sites.
The promotional center will be held until October and operated in the middle of the transportation center at Incheon International Airport's Terminal 1.
Both Korean and foreign visitors who enter Incheon International Airport can experience the cultural heritages in advance through various tangible content.
The experience zone allows visitors to enjoy the Korean Heritage Route provided by the "Visit Korean Heritage Campaign," including the "Golden Era Route" and "Route of Antiquity," through a large LED screen, virtual reality, augmented reality (AR/VR), and interactive technologies.
Within the promotional center, local governments in Korea have provided tourist information and promotional materials in order to revitalize its respective region.
In addition, artist Im Ji-bin's "VISIT Bear Balloon," a giant yet cute bear-shaped balloon, will be displayed at the center from September to November.
Lee Ji-eun, the exhibition director of "Visit Korean Heritage Campaign," said, "We are happy to provide a space where cultural heritages, prepared by local governments nationwide, can be promoted and convey the value of such heritage sites both vividly and artistically to domestic and foreign tourists."
