A royal ritual to mark the 626th anniversary of the birth of King Sejong the Great (1397-1450) takes place at his grave, "Yeongneung," in Yeoju, 105 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on May 15, 2023. The king, the fourth monarch of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), invented the Korean alphabet, "hangeul," in the 15th century. (Yonhap)
