BTS Jungkook Sets Weverse Record with 30-Song Live During Leave

SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Yonhap) -- BTS member Jungkook, currently serving in the military, conducted a live session on Weverse during his leave, performing over 30 songs in approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. 

 

The broadcast achieved a record-breaking 20.2 million cumulative plays, the highest in Weverse’s history since its launch in 2019.

 

According to Big Hit Music on Thursday, Jungkook began his live session the previous night at 11:39 PM, greeting fans with, "I missed you all so much, and it’s been so long that I feel nervous."

 

Sharing updates on his life, he offered fans a glimpse inside his new home and revealed, "I adjusted my schedule to make sure I could do a live during this leave. I've been running and weight training daily."

 

Jungkook performed a wide range of songs, including Taeyeon’s To. X, Block B’s Where You At, Rosé’s APT., and Eilit’s Magnetic. He also sang BTS members’ recent solo releases, such as Jin’s I'll Be There and V’s Winter Ahead.

 

Expressing his gratitude, Jungkook concluded, "Today was so much fun. I hope everyone stays well. I’ll come back more practiced and prepared." Although he admitted it was hard to say goodbye, he promised to return.

 

As of 1 pm. on Thursday, the live broadcast had garnered an astounding 292 million hearts (equivalent to likes).

 

Jungkook, who enlisted in December last year as an active-duty soldier in the Army, is scheduled to complete his service and be discharged in June of next year.
