First performance of 'Tradition and Experiment – The East Coast' to be held on 25th

SEOUL, June 11 (Yonhap) -- On the 25th, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts will be performing "The East Coast," the first performance of "The Tradition and Experiment- a series of orchestra" along with the Seoul Traditional Orchestra at Sejong M Theater.

"Tradition and Experiment – The East Coast" is a stage to perform new creations made by entrusted composers under the theme of Korean traditional culture.

In this "Tradition and Experiment- The East Coast," four newly appointed composers and Kim Seong-guk, director of the Seoul Traditional Orchestra, will be presenting a creative song based on the East Coast Byeolsingut (Village Ritual)

"Manpasikjeok's Dream" (Kim Dae-seong), a double concerto for daegeum (large bamboo flute) and gayageum (traditional Korean plucked zither with 12 strings), "Rhythm of Earth, Rhythm of Heaven" (Thomas Osborne) for Geomungo (traditional Korean plucked zither with both bridges and frets), Traditional Orchestra "Like the Flowing Sea" (Son Da-hye) and many more will be performed.
