SEOUL November 08 (Yonhap) -- Eunhaesa Temple located within Yeongcheon of North Gyeongsang Province will be hosting an exhibition shining the light on the thousand years of history, people and the space.

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Daegu National Museum, will be collaborating with Eunhaesa Temple on the special exhibition “Buddhist Arts at Eunhaesa Temple” starting on November 8.

Eunhaesa Temple is built during the Unified Silla under King Heondeok by state preceptor Haecheol . Although the temple was originally called Haeansa Temple, however during Joseon dynasty under Myeongjong the temple was relocated to the current spot.

Eunhaesa Temple is not only widely known as a protective facility of a placenta and umbilical cord of a child that was born within the palace but also as the temple with Amitabha Buddha.

Throughout the special exhibition total of 363 various relics including four of the treasures, “Hanging Painting of Eunhaesa Temple,” “Bronze Gong and Rack of Eunhaesa Temple,” and more will be exhibited for visitors to see. .

Visitors will be greeted by the “Hanging painting of Eunhaesa Temple” which was used throughout the Buddhist rituals.

“Hanging Painting of Eunhaesa Temple” which was originally drawn during the regime of Yeongjo during Joseon dynasty incorporates beautiful lotus flowers which showcases ascending towards the paradise and the well incorporated color sequences attracts viewers attention.

Continuing on throughout the exhibition, there will be a segment where visitors will be able to understand and learn about the history and the development of Eunhaesa Temple.

Moreover, segment where they focused on people who gathered at Eunhaesa Temple provide visitors with interesting exhibition.

Throughout the Joseon dynasty, Eunhaesa Temple was often used as a place for sightseeing and more. Visitors will be able to see numerous Buddhist monks who have passed through Eunhaesa Temple through the old Buddhist paintings.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors will also be able to see the relics related to each individual temples with extensive history.

“Five hundred Arhat stone sculpture,” which is located within Geojosa Temple which is part of Eunhaesa Temple, provides authentic experience to its visitors, and throughout the exhibition, visitors will be introduced to 30 of the brand new relics which has never been exhibited.

“Five hundred Arhat Stone Sculpture” Geojosa will only be available for 2 months until January 15 of 2023.

The exhibition will last until February 19 2023.
