SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- Hwacheon county in Gangwon province has begun overseas local marketing to announce the 2023 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival, which will resume after 3 years.
The 2023 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival will be held in Hwacheon for 23 days from January 7 to 29 next year.
According to Hwacheon county on Tuesday, the Sancheoneo Ice Festival PR team will visit 4 countries in Southeast Asia for 11 days from Monday to Nov.19 to conduct festival sales.
Four countries are Taipei, Taiwan; Bangkok, Thailand; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Hanoi, Vietnam.
The PR team will visit travel agencies in each countries to explain festival and provide posters and materials.
Agencies they will visit are 23 travel agencies which have previously put Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival as their traveling oducts before COVID-19.
They will also visit overseas branches of the Korea Tourism Organization to discuss collaborative cooperation plans to promote festival.
Earlier last month, Hwacheon held a festival briefing session for 26 inbound travel agencies targeting foreigners.
They will use overseas SNS accounts (Thai and Traditional Chinese) to promote the festival to around 90,000 foreign followers this month.
The mayor of Hwacheon County, Choi Moon-soon said, "We will prepare variety of experiencing programs and the festival according to plan while promoting the festival."
