SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Yonhap) -- Kei, the main vocalist of Lovelyz, is making a comeback as a solo artist with the release of her digital single "Winter Garden" at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
This marks her first solo release in five years, following her 2019 mini-album "Over and Over."
Having gained recognition as a solo artist through various drama and musical OSTs, Kei's latest single showcases her signature sweet and delicate vocals.
Winter Garden is an R&B ballad that combines warm strings and piano with Kei’s harmonious voice to depict a pristine winter landscape, evoking the beauty of a snowy garden.
The song was composed by HOLLIN of production team Monotree, alongside Frankie Day and Ayushy from Team The Hub. Kei also contributed to the lyrics, working with pdly and 9june9 from Monotree. Notably, Yoonsang, known as the “Father of Lovelyz,” participated as the sound supervisor, ensuring the track highlights both Kei’s capabilities as a seasoned vocalist and her individuality as a solo artist.
Kei's agency, A2Z Entertainment, shared, “We hope this song warms hearts and brings comfort as listeners share its warmth during the winter season.”
This year, Kei actively performed in musicals such as Notre Dame de Paris and Your Lie in April, further cementing her presence as a musical actress. Additionally, she joined her group Lovelyz in successfully completing four solo concerts in Seoul, Macau, and Taiwan.
