SEOUL, April 18 (Yonhap) -- Taeyeon of K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation has abruptly canceled her upcoming solo concert in Japan just two days before its scheduled date, her agency confirmed Friday.
According to industry sources, SM Entertainment announced via its official website on Wednesday that Taeyeon’s solo concert “The TENSE in JAPAN”, set to take place on April 19–20 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, has been canceled.
The agency cited logistical issues, stating, “We are currently transporting equipment used during the Asia tour to Japan, but it has yet to arrive. This makes it extremely difficult to adequately prepare for the concert.”
SM added, “We explored all possibilities and held discussions with all relevant parties, but ultimately concluded that it would not be possible to proceed with the performance at the expected standard.”
Taeyeon is currently in the midst of her Asia tour, which began last month at KSPO Dome in Seoul and continued in Taipei, Manila, and Jakarta.
