SEOUL, Apir 4 (Yonhap) -- Singer Park Jae-beom's Won Soju, led by the artist himself, is venturing into the Japanese market.
On the 4th, Korean liquor maker Wons Spirits announced that it would export its Won Soju to the Japanese market and commemorate this by opening a pop-up store in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Wons Spirits opened its official online store in Japan on the 1st and started selling Won Soju Original, Won Soju Classic, and Won Soju Spirit.
Japan remains the undisputed top destination for Korean soju exports. Last year, the export value of soju to Japan amounted to $30.83 million.
Wons Spirits aims to promote the charm of Korean soju and strengthen connections with Japanese consumers.
The firm will operate a pop-up store to celebrate the launch of Won Soju at GR8, a street edit shop in Harajuku, Tokyo, on the 13th and 14th. They will also participate in the Gore Headz music festival from the 4th to the 6th.
A Wons Spirits official stated, "Won Soju has received positive responses in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hong Kong, and Malaysia," and revealed plans to export to Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia as well.
