SEOUL, Mar. 1 (Yonhap) -- Singer Sean has succeeded in completing the 31km marathon to mark the March 1st Independence Movement Day and donated 148 million won, his agency YG Entertainment said on Wednesday.
Sean, along with the Korea Habitat, held the 2023 3.1 Run, a donation marathon that runs 3.1 kilometers or 31 kilometers by choosing the time and place that participants want.
The event was organized to commemorate independence activists who participated in the independence movement for their homeland. Sean has completed 31km with a time of 2 hours 37 minutes 37 seconds even with his toenails missing.
Along with Sean, former national soccer teams Lee Young-pyo and Cho Won-hee, actors Park Bo-gum, Yoon Se-a, Yim Si-wan, and Choi Si-won participated.
The total of 148 million won, which was provided with participation fees and corporate donations for 1,000 people who participated in the event, will be used for projects to improve the residential environment of descendants of independence fighters.
