SEOUL, August 10 (Yonhap) -- The city of Iksan, North Jeolla Province announced on Wednesday that it will be holding the “2022 Iksan Cultural Heritage Night” at the Archaeological Site in Wanggung-ri, Iksan from August 12 till August 14.

With the theme of “King Mu of Baekje Appearing in the Royal Palace,” this cultural heritage night tour is decorated with rich programs including exhibitions, performances, concerts, and unique experiences to blow away the heat of a midsummer night.

This year, the city of Iksan, the Iksan Cultural & Tourism Foundation, and civic groups collaborated for the event, and harmoniously arranged themes representing the night tour of Iksan cultural assets such as “The Royal Palace, King Mu, Cultural Heritage, Quietness and Rest” throughout the venue to attract visitors.

At Baekje Plaza, the entrance to the event site, a flea market, a food zone, photo zone, and intangible cultural heritage performances will welcome the visitors.

Once it passes the square, there is the Baekje Royal Palace Museum.

The museum, which was renewed in June, was reborn as a smart experience history museum equipped with a virtual experience hall, an excavation experience room, and a children's digital experience room that restored the royal palace of Baekje using the ICT technology.

Additionally, a media art show is scheduled to be screened on the exterior wall of the museum at all times, and during this period, the roof of the museum will also be open to see the true nature of the “Night View of Baekje Royal Palace.”

Upon exiting the museum, the visitors will be able to see the Royal Palace of Baekje built by King Mu 1,600 years ago.

Here, one will be able to experience photo zones and exhibition programs.

In Tapri Village, outside the royal palace, there will be plays and buskings held from culture clubs at the Tapri Theater and the Baekje Calligraphy Center where one can write mottos and experience calligraphy will also be operated.
