SEOUL, Mar. 10 (Yonhap) -- Sejong Teenz, a South Korean-made musical theater troupe consisting of elementary, middle and high school students in the city of Sejong, will showcase its eighth performance at the Gongju Literature Center on Mar.12, the group confirmed Friday.
Sejong Teenz was founded by students themselves at Hansol Middle School and Jongchon High School, helmed by Sejong Arts High School. The troupe has been delivering annual performances since 2015.
Sejong Teenz, which first kicked off as a school club, took home their first trophy at the Dong-A Competition in 2018 and also made it to the finals of the Daegu International Musical Festival "Musical Star" last year.
Their performance will be presented twice at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday under the title of "The Miracle of Crunchem School — Egypt’s Love Story."
Kim Tae-hee (Sejong Art High School) of Sejong Teenz said, "I watched my very first musical when I was in the sixth grade, and now I am in love with Sejong Teenz,” adding, “We would like to ask for your continued attention to our upcoming performance, which we have poured our heart to impress Sejong citizens and also to promote the work of K-musical to the world.”
