SEOUL, June 13 (Yonhap) - tvN’s Friday-Saturday drama “Shooting Stars” ended without breaking the 1% rate.

According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research company, on June 12, the last episode of "Shooting Stars", which was broadcasted at 10:40 p.m. the previous day, was rated 1.5% (non-terrestrial paid households).

The drama, which deals with the stories of celebrities, entertainments and broadcast staff, with the combination of Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae, a beautiful couple, had great expectations, but received a somewhat disappointing result with highest rating of 1.8% (2 episodes).

In the final episode, the head of the PR team of the promoter Star Force Entertainment, Oh Han-byeol (Lee Sung-kyung) and the top star Gong Tae-sung (Kim Young-dae), and the so-called “Kkong-Byeol Couple," had a beautiful ending, publicly declaring themselves as lovers.

Yu-sung (Yoon Jong-hoon), who became the director of Star Force Entertainment, and Ho-young (Kim Yoon-hye), who became the one-team leader of Start Force Entertainment, also confirmed their love and became a "manager couple", while Onstar Daily reporter Ki-bum (Park So-jin) and Star Force Entertainment’s advisory lawyer Soo-hyuk (Lee Jung-shin) also became loves.

"Shooting Star" means "the stellar people who do the dirty work", and colorfully tells the stories of people who shed blood, sweat, and tears behind the scenes to make the celebrities shine like stars in the sky.

With the background of a glamorous-looking entertainment industry, actors such as Song Ji-hyo, Jin Ki-joo, Lee Sang-yeob, Um Ki-joon, Bong Tae kyu and others made a surprise cameo appearance that caught the eye, and pointed out recurring problems in the entertainment industry such as hate comments, stalking, anti-fans, malicious rumors, and unthinkable options.

The romance of the lovely characters excited viewers, and it was rated as a content that can be enjoyed lightly without dragging the storyline by talking about the small things in daily life, and without the need for villains or atrocious events.

However, there was also a reaction that the typical setting of a romantic comedy was somewhat of a cliché, in which the male protagonist is a well-reputed man socially and economically, whereas the female protagonist encounters various events and accidents, but navigates through them positively.
