SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) – K-pop boy group ENHYPEN has received a "Gold Award,” which is given to content creators that surpassed 10 million followers on TikTok, according to the agency BELIFT LAB on May 27.
The Gold Award of the "TikTok Creator Awards," awarded by mobile video platform TikTok Korea, is given to accounts that have over 10 million followers and consistently present quality content on the application.
The number of followers of ENHYPEN's official TikTok account exceeded 11 million as of Friday.
The agency explained, "ENHYPEN has received favorable reviews by fans by uploading contents that can only be seen on TikTok, such as dance covers, and was awarded the 'Gold Award' in the shortest period since debut among K-pop artists.”
Moreover, ENHYPEN’s track “Polaroid Love” from the first full repackaged album “DIMENSION : ANSWER” climbed up the music chart as its challenge video went viral.
The group, debuted in 2020, was formed through the votes of the global viewers from Mnet’s audition program “I-LAND,” and it consists of seven members, including Hee-seung, Jay, Jake, Sung-hoon, Sunoo, Jung-won, and Ni-ki.
ENHYPEN, which has drawn attention as a leading boy group with fandoms in Korea and Japan, also set the record of a “million seller” by exceeding more than a million copies with its first full album.
