SEOUL, Apr. 25 (Yonhap) – “We will create “KAACHI” that keeps heading for the dream, making new genres, and delivering new music to audiences.”

It is the aspiration of Lee Hye-rim, CEO of “FrontRow Records,” who produced the first European K-pop girl group “KAACHI” in England. “KAACHI” contains the meaning of creating “value” “together.”

The group was originally a 4-member girl group consisting of members Dani from England, Nicole and Chun-seo, who were born in Spain and grew up in England, and Coco from Korea, but Dani left the group due to the expiry of contract in May, 2021. The new member will be revealed next month.

The music video of KAACHI’s debut song “Your Turn,” which was dropped in 2020, recorded 14 million views, while the cumulative views on YouTube reached 470 million views. The group has been showing active performances by releasing their second single “Photo Magic,” third single “The One Thing,” and “Extra Special.”

KAACHI also made a remake of K-pop girl group Baby V.O.X’s “GET UP” and introduced it to the markets in England, South America, and the United States, receiving great attention by ranking No. 10 on Mexican YouTube chart and No. 4 in Argentina.

CEO Lee, who runs the music and contents agency “FrontRow Records” in London, England, is performing as a member of the London branch of World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations(World-OKTA). She also visited Korea to participate in the “World-OKTA Leaders Convention and Business Plaza,” which was recently held in Hwaseong in Gyeonggi Province.

Lee said during an interview with Yonhap News Agency on Apr. 25, “KAACHI is experimenting the golden ratio of Western pop and K-pop. We try to pursue the beauty of K-pop while maintaining the features of a ‘Londoner(inhabitant of London).’”

She added, “By showing how KAACHI achieved their dreams of becoming a K-pop singer in London, England, I wanted to deliver the message of ‘possibility’ for those who wanted to become a singer while dancing to K-pop on the street for years abroad in America or England but gave up.”

Channel 4, a British television network, produced and aired the documentary about KAACHI under the theme of “Rising K-pop in England.” The channel evaluated in the program, “The group has been getting a lot of support for trying a new style of music in England,” adding, “I think the city encourages this kind of challenge even more actively since London provides a global stage where artists with diverse nationalities and backgrounds can perform.”

KAACHI was invited to the “London’s New Year’s Day Parade,” hosted by the city of London, England, last year as well as this year and has drawn attention great enough to greet the New Year for the British.

KAACHI also performed on the stage in Korea last summer. The group held the offline concert with SBS TV’s “Kpop Superfest” on “LivexLive,” the transmission platform of the global artists. KBS’ documentary “DOCU INSIGHT” also introduced the story of KAACHI.

The group plans to release four singles this year. The members are also set to star in the music entertainment program called “Tapgol Park in London(translated)” and the music documentary.

Lee showed her ambitions, “We will make KAACHI perform on the Korean music programs this year as well. If possible, we want them to star in MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core,’ KBS’ ‘Music Bank,’ and SBS’ ‘Inkigayo,’” adding, “We also want to try filming the contents in collaboration with Korean artists.”
