(LEAD) SEOUL, August 27 (Yonhap) — Girl group BLACKPINK’s new song “Pink Venom” is gaining global populartiy.
The song has ranked No.2 on world’s biggest streaming platform Spotify’s “Top Song Global Weekly” chart, according to their agency YG Entertainment on Saturday.
This is the greatest record for K-pop artist and K-pop song. The streaming numbers for “Pink Venom” for the past week recorded a total of 41,286,215.
The song has topped the “Daily Top Song” chart for 3 days after its release.
Meanwhile, the music video surpassed 200 million views on YouTube 19 at 2:11 a.m.
This is a record in 7 days and 13 hours.
This is the second fastest speed for K-pop girl group to reach 200 million views following the shortest period of 7 days and 46 minutes “How You Like That.
The music video for “Pink Venom” recorded 90.4 million views in the 24 hours after its release, breaking the world record for a female artist in 24 hours.
The song also ranked 22nd on the British Official Singles Chart Top 100.
