SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Yonhap) -- Stray Kids and TWICE have earned platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), their agency said Thursday.

According to the RIAA’s official website, updated Monday (local time), Stray Kids’ “God’s Menu” and TWICE’s “Strategy” each surpassed 1 million units in U.S. digital single sales, earning platinum status.

The RIAA awards certifications based on digital single and album sales, with gold for more than 500,000 units, platinum for over 1 million units, multi-platinum for over 2 million units and diamond for over 10 million units.

This marks the first time both Stray Kids and TWICE have received RIAA platinum certifications. TWICE, in particular, became the first K-pop girl group to achieve a platinum certification from the U.S. music body.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Jennie also received a gold certification in the singles category for her solo track “ExtraL.”
