SEOUL, October 24 (Yonhap)-- Busan Metropolitan City announced on Monday that the Busan Fireworks Festival will be held in front of Busan Gwangalli Beach, Dongbaekseom Island, and Yigi-dae on November 5 after three years.
The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
The 17th Busan Fireworks Festival's theme is "Harmony of Busan."
The festival consists of a fireworks street performance, a fireworks talk show, an opening show, and more. The internationally invited fireworks show lasts for ten minutes, followed by the Busan Multi Fireworks show, and a thank you curtain call.
The Fireworks talk show is a program where fireworks are performed to the citizens' recommended song, which was chosen prior.
Four stories will be delivered on this day, including "Shining" for a daughter with autism spectrum disorder, "Mom's Day" to appreciate mom, "Our Star" to show the longing of the parents, which has been 17 years after losing their first child, and "Youth is 100 years old" to celebrate grandpa's 100th birthday.
The Busan Multi Fireworks Festival consists of four sets, Youth and Passion, Ocean and Romance, Us Again, and Busan Harmony, narrated by actor Jung-woo, who is from Busan.
The poster for the festival was designed in collaboration with illustrator Yi Seul-a, who is from Busan.
The Busan Metropolitan City will partially control traffic on the Gwangan Bridge from October 31 to November 6 for the installation and release of structures and lighting.
On November 5, the upper floor will be fully controlled starting at 4:30 p.m. until midnight, and the lower floor starting at 7:30 p.m. until midnight.
