SEOUL, August 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean movie based on writer Chang Gang-myung’s novel “Because I Hate Korea” is under production, announced production company Mocushura on Tuesday.
The movie “Because I Hate Korea,” is a movie about protagonist Gye-na who is her late 20s leaves her work, boyfriend, and family to New Zealand in pursuit of her own happiness.
The protagonist Gye-na will be acted out by Korean actress Go Ah-sung. Actress Go Ah-sung who debuted through South Korean block buster “The Host” in 2006 as a daughter of Kang-do, acted by Song Kang-ho continued on with her career by appearing in “Snowpiercer” in 2013, “Office” in 2015, “A Resistance” in 2019 and “Smajin Company English Class” in 2020.
Director Jang Kun-jae, known for his work, “Sleepless Night” in 2012, “A Midsummer’s Fantasia” in 2014 and S. Korean drama Monstrous, will lead the production.
