See Latin American movies in CGV Cheongdam Cinecity

SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- “'90 Minutes,’ a soccer story, ‘The Gold Seekers,’ a movie on youth adventure, ‘Time of Women,’ depicting the lives of indigenous women, ‘Nahuel and the Magic Book,' an animation, and ‘Tomorrow Don’t Forget’ which shows harmony between families with disabilities.

These films were made in Honduras, Paraguay, Ecuador, Chile and the Dominican Republic, respectively, and one will now have the opportunity to see them all in one place.

In addition to these films, Guatemalan, Mexican, Panama, Colombian and El Salvador films will also be featured.

The Korea Foundation (KF) carefully selected 12 works to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties with 12 Latin American countries.

KF announced on Friday that it would hold a World Film Week event under the theme of “ROK-LAC Diplomatic relation- 60 Years of Friendship: Our Journey through Latin America” at CGV Cheongdam Cinecity in Seoul from August 5-7.

The opening ceremony will be held at the 1928 Art Center in Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul on August 5. The opening film, “Days of Light,” depicts people trapped at the site hit by a typhoon, and overcoming the typhoon. It is an omnibus film co-produced with six countries by directors from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama, with a motive that light will always come by even at the darkest times.

During the event period, CGV Cheongdam Cinecity will feature writers and films under the themes of “Women Rewrite History,” “Empathy of the generation,” “Friendship and Solidarity that transcends time,” and “You Will Not Sleep in Argentine Paradise or Lucrecia Martel's Tactics” with talk concerts under these themes.

In addition, as a special video, Latin American movie will criticized by YouTuber “movie comment” with 310,000 subscribers will be introduced.

The screened works can also be viewed on Naver TV from August 5 to 18.
