SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group NewJeans' song “How Sweet” has surpassed 200 million streams on global music platform Spotify, the group’s agency ADOR said Monday.
Released in May last year, the track recorded 200,193,975 streams as of Saturday.
“How Sweet,” the title track of the group's single of the same name, is a Miami bass-based hip-hop song that showcases NewJeans’ signature style.
The song quickly rose to the top of the Melon chart upon release and was selected by U.S. music magazine Rolling Stone as one of its “100 Best Songs of 2024.”
This marks the 11th time a NewJeans song has exceeded 200 million streams on Spotify. The group’s hits include “OMG,” which has over 800 million streams, and “Ditto,” which has surpassed 700 million. The cumulative number of streams for all NewJeans tracks on Spotify stands at 6.2 billion.
