SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Jeonbuk National University will export Hanok to Philippines following Vietnam.

Jeonbuk National University announced on the 22nd that they agreed to build a Hanok complex in Ayala, the biggest shopping mall in Mannila of Philippines, together with Korean company CONGRATS 2U located in Philippines.

The university and the company will start building Hanok Jeongja (Korean traditional pavilion), Korean style garden and landscaping, as well as introducing Korean traditional culture and Jeonbuk National University beginning from the second half of the year.

In addition, Korean wave culture performances will also be held.

Jeonbuk National University will also provide building materials and Hanok architectural engineers, and train them on architectural technology.

Kim Dong-won, the president of Jeonbuk National University, said, “This is the opportunity to advance the architectural technology of traditional Hanok, and promote the superiority of Hanok,” adding, “We will fully provide resources and capabilities related to Hanok.”

Jeonbuk National University completed the construction of Hanok Jeongja in Quy Nhon city of Vietnam, and will additionally build community service center and promotion hall in Hanok style.

Moreover, a complex including about 40 Hanok buildings will be established in Georgia, the United States.
