SEOUL, December 5 (Yonhap)-- Lee Soo-man, the chief producer of SM Entertainment met Haifa bint Muhammad Al Saud, princess of Saudi Arabia who is also the Vice Minister of Tourism on November 29 (local time) to discuss about the continuity of development in the cultural industry.
Executive producer Lee and Princess Halfa signed a business agreement at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to strengthen their partnership on content production and marketing that combines SM's intellectual property (IP) and Saudi cultural heritage, according to SM Entertainment on Monday,
The event was attended by SM Entertainment CEO Lee Sung-su, SM SEA & MENA branch manager Han Kyung-jin, and Fahd Hamidaddin, the Chief Executive Officer of the Board of the Saudi Tourism Authority
Through this business agreement, the executive producer, SM Entertainment, and the Saudi Tourism Authority will appoint SM artists as Saudi Arabia tourism ambassadors and produce music videos set in Saudi tourist attractions.
During the meeting with Princess Haifa, the chief producer suggested, "For the sustainability of the Earth, the roadmap should be specifically implemented with carbon emissions," adding, "Let's run a music festival and a campaign to Plant Trees and Save the Earth in the Middle East and Mongolia in 2023."
He said, "We recently met with officials of the Mongolian government of to discuss the creation of a smart entertainment city in Mongolia and decided to hold a 'K-pop Festival to Plant Trees'."
In response, Princess Haifa said, "Planting trees under the name of the name of reservation when tourists from all over the world visit Saudi Arabia to watch K-pop concerts will increase participation and be effective."
