SEOUL, May 14 (Yonhap) -- Lee Soo-man, the founder of SM Entertainment and current executive producer at A2O Entertainment, expressed gratitude to his artists as a documentary chronicling his musical legacy premiered in the United States.
According to A2O Entertainment, Lee attended the premiere of the Amazon Prime documentary Lee Soo Man: King of K-Pop on Monday (local time) at NeueHouse Hollywood in California. The event drew around 300 attendees, including Hollywood insiders and SM-affiliated artists.
Super Junior’s Choi Si-won and SHINee’s Taemin walked the red carpet alongside Lee, while Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon performed a DJ set. A2O’s newly produced girl group, May, also took to the stage.
“I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for the talents of my artists, and if they hadn’t chosen me,” Lee said, calling them more like family than disciples.
He also thanked longtime collaborators Kenzie and Yoo Young-jin, saying, “I’m grateful that they stayed by my side and brought my musical visions to life.”
Lee concluded by expressing appreciation to director Ting Poo and Amazon Prime Video for their patience and dedication to the project.
The documentary, Lee Soo Man: King of K-Pop, is set to be released in the United States on May 13 and features interviews with BoA, EXO’s Suho, aespa, and other SM artists.
