SM Entertainment to hold free online concert on New Year

SEOUL, Nov. 30 (Yonhap) -- SM Entertainment announced on Wednesday that they will hold free online concert "2023 SM Town Live : SMCU Palace @KWANGYA" on New Year.

The concert will take place under the theme that SM artists gathered at "SM Culture Universe Palace" in their virtual space "KWANGYA."

Concert will be aired live globally through SMTOWN's YouTUbe channel, as well as Beyond Live, Japan KNTV, LG U+ Idol Plus web, etc.

"SM Town Live" concert which took place January 1 of this year was streamed 51.7 million times from 179 countries, recording the hightest number of viewing for Korean online concert.

SM Entertainment is opening "SMCU palace" at their metaverse gaming platform "The Sandbox" for the advanced promotional event. Users can use their avatars to look around the spaces of each SM artists and play missions.

SM will also release winter album "2022 Winter SM Town : SMCU Palace" on Dec. 26 to show various collaborations of SM artists.
