Original Musical team for 'Chicago' to visit S.Korea in May

SEOUL March 22 (Yonhap) -- Musical Chicago’s original performance team from Broadway has visited South Korea for the first time in six years to greet their fans.

According to the production company Seensee company on March 22, the original team of the musical Chicago will kick off their show starting on May 27 until August 6 at the Blue square located in Hannam district of Seoul.

The original musical team from the Broadway will be returning to South Korea in six years. The most recent performance done by the team was back in 2003 and 2015.

In order to celebrate the 25thh anniversary of the musical, the original performance team of Chicago the Musical will visit South Kroea to meet the fans after they are done with their United States tour.

The musical which first took stage in 1975 went through a remake by the director Walter Bobbie and choreographer Ann Reinking back in 1996 and continued on with its fame throughout 25 years.

The background of the musical “Chicago” set in the 1920s within the United States where murder, corruption, violence and various other factors made the world go chaotic were often found easily throughout the streets.

The musical showcases protagonist Roxie Hart who killed his husband and her sister who were continuing on with their inappropriate relationship behind her, and various music which was often seen throughout the 1920s attracting the audiences with various interesting stories.

The most popular track from the musical “All That Jazz” showcases female actresses in their see through clothes dancing as if they are luring the audiences throughout the music.

Throughout the musical being showcased in South Korea main actress Logan Floyd and Katie Frieden will take the stage.

Along with flamboyant set and dances with actors luring movement, the live music being performed by 14 member big band is also something to look out for throughout the show.
