SEOUL, Nov. 19 (Yonhap) -- Music streaming platform Melon said on Tuesday that K-pop fans have established two forests in Seoul in homage to their stars.
These forests are each named "BTS Forest No. 3" in Ttukseom Hangang Park and the "SEVENTEEN Forest No. 3" in Boramae Park, as part of Melon's eco-friendly project "Forest;Trimming."
Under this initiative, Melon subscribers who opt for regular payment plans can select their favorite artists, with 2% of their monthly payments being set aside for the cause.
Once a total of 20 million won is accumulated for a specific artist, Melon donates the funds to the Seoul Environmental Federation to create green spaces within the city.
