SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Yonhap) -- K-pop balladeer KCM will unveil his first single of 2025, "To the Person Called 'Me'," at 6 p.m. on major charts on Friday.

The song blends an acoustic piano intro with oriental-inspired melodies, majestic string arrangements, and a dynamic full band performance, highlighting KCM's soulful voice, according to his label, A2Z Entertainment.

KCM personally took charge of the songwriting, composition, and production for the track, dedicating approximately eight months to crafting the lyrics. This marks the longest time KCM has spent perfecting the words for any of his songs.

The lyrics take the form of a monologue addressed to oneself in moments of despair, delivering a message of solace and resilience. Each word has been meticulously chosen to create universally relatable and comforting lines.

The music video for "To the Person Called 'Me'" portrays the struggles of a protagonist facing harsh realities, juxtaposed with the hope embodied in the song. The storyline and settings, inspired by KCM's personal experiences, stand apart from his previous works, offering a raw and poignant narrative.

KCM shared his motivation for the project, stating, "As a singer, I have often sung of love and heartbreak, but now feels like the time to sing about healing and hope. I believe we all need comfort right now. Through this song, I hope people can take a moment to look around at one another and find the courage to overcome their challenges."
