SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) - K-pop megagroup BTS member Jin’s first solo single “The Astronaut” became a hit, selling over 700,000 copies on Friday, the day of release.
According to the agency Big Hit Music on Saturday, the single has' sold 709,954 copies as of the previous day on the Hanteo Chart.
It is an unusual number considering that only one title song of the same name is included in the single.
“The Astronaut '' topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in 97 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France as ofl 9 a.m on the same day.
The song's music video also topped the list of rising YouTube videos in Korea, the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, and other countries. As of 9 a.m. Saturday, iit has recorded 15.32 million views.
