SEOUL, Dec. 30 (Yonhap) -- "Six the Musical," a musical which depicts the lives of six wives of Henry VIII of England, will hold its first concert in Asia next year in Korea. After the performance in Korea, Korean licensed musical will also premier.
Production company IM Culture announced on Friday that a performance of "Six the Musical" will be held at Shinhan Card Artium in COEX from next March 10 to 26. The Korean-language licensed musical will take place at the same venue on the 31st of the same month.
Created by British creators Toby Marlowe and Lucy Moss, Six the Musical features lives of six Tudor queens who married Henry VIII more than 500 years ago with intense pop music.
After its first performance at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017, it was performed in London's West End in 2019 and performed in Broadway in 2020. At the 75th Tony Awards held in June, it won the Best Music Award and the Best Costume Design Award.
Live performance album "The Six: Live on Opening Night" released this year topped the Billboard Cast Album Chart upon its release.
Performance by foreign actors and then Korean-language performance will meet fans in next March for three weeks. The cast for musical in Korean will be released later.
