SEOUL, Sept. 15 (Yonhap) -- Actor Sung-hoon will play the read role in new drama "Heartbeat."

"Heartbeat," based on a cartoon of the same name, is an action noir genre that depicts the bromance of rough men.

Sung-hoon will play Kang Woo-joo,president of Taebong Construction company and a former gang member with excellent fighting skills and extraordinary brains.

Actor Byun Joon-seo will appear as Jung Si-woong, head of Taebong Construction's strategic planning division.

The airing schedule and channel of the drama are undecided, and filming will begin in the second half of this year.
