Actress Jeon So-min Cast in KBS' New Series

SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- Jeon So-min will star in the new drama KBS Joy, a cable channel operated by KBS N. 

 

Tentatively titled The show is set to air from December 5, with Jeon So-min cast in the lead role, KBS Joy announced on the 22nd. 

 

Jeon will portray the character Ji Song, a woman struggling to make ends meet by taking on exhausting part-time jobs after being dumped and left to pay off the mortgage on what was supposed to be her newlywed home. The drama centers on Ji Song's challenges as she navigates the pretentiousness and snobbery of residents in a newly developed town, pretending to be a married woman to fit in.

 

Gong Min-jung will play Choi Hana, a working mom in the new town who was once Ji Song’s close friend but has since grown distant. Jang Hee-ryung will portray Ahn Chan-yang, a ceramics teacher in the town.

 

The 12-episode series will also be available on Netflix. It is directed by Min Ji-young of "Cheongdam International High School" and written by Jo Yoo-jin, the screenwriter of the film "Pilot."
