SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Yonhap) -- The 2015 film Inside Men will be adapted into a series starring actor Song Kang-ho. Production company Hive Media Corp announced on the 12th that they are preparing for the series, tentatively titled Inside Men, with plans to begin filming next year.

The original film, which starred Lee Byung-hun, Cho Seung-woo, and Baek Yoon-sik, intricately wove together key events and figures from the 1980s and 1990s. It won several prestigious awards, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Planning at the 53rd Grand Bell Awards, as well as Best Film at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

In the upcoming series, Song Kang-ho will take on the role of Lee Kang-hee, originally played by Baek Yoon-sik, a key figure who orchestrates and influences the power dynamics in Korea.

The series will be directed by Mo Wan-il, known for The World of the Married and Misty, while Lee Ki-cheol, the screenwriter behind Escape from Mogadishu, Assassination, and The Thieves, will pen the script.
