SEOUL September 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actress and K-pop girl group Red Velvet’s member Park Soo-young also known as JOY will go through character change as a police officer stationed at a small little town in countryside.
Throughout the online press conference of Kakao TV’s upcoming original drama “Once Upon a Small Town” actress Park Soo-yong stated “I have dedicated all of my 27th summer into this project.” showing her love for the project.
Upcoming drama “Once Upon a Small Town” is a romance story in between Veterinarian who spent his entire life in Seoul and a police officer who spent her entire life in the countryside.
Actress Park Soo-young will be acting out the police officer Ahn Ja-young of heeding village, who is very nosy.
“Charcter Ahn Ja-young is like a walking service center, she goes around town helping everyone who are in need.” adding “She is very positive, and outgoing, therefore while acting out Ahn Ja-young I think I have become more positive, bright, and became a well rounded person.” stated actress Park Soo-young during the online press conference.
Continuing on, the actress stated “’Once Upon a Small Town’ is a great drama for those who are tired of everyday life. It will rejuvenate your tired mind.” adding “I hope you guys see how the emotions in between two individuals grow and become a lover.”
Moreover, the director Kwon Seok-jang stated “Throughout the production I have thought to myself I should not push things to extreme and let it flow natural.” adding “Letting things flow naturally in my perspective goes well with the characteristics of the drama which is set in a small little town in a countryside.”
The elite veterinarian who falls in love with police officer Ahn Ja-young will be acted out by the South Korean actor Choo Young-woo.
“Character Han Ji-yul is a veterinarian who struggles to fit in to the small little town he moved to after leaving his animal hospital in Seoul.” adding “I had moments where I struggled during the production because I have never lived in a countryside before, however, I adjusted to the environment as the character Han Ji-yul adjusted to the environment.” actor Choo Young-woo chuckled while giving his answer throughout the online press conference.
Continuing on Choo Young-woo shared a behind story of the production “I went to an actual veterinarian with questions and practiced under his supervision. I got stepped by a cow and hit by cows tail throughout the production.”
Character Lee Sang-hyeon acted by Baek Seong-cheol is a heir to the farming who draws a love triangle with Ahn Ja-young and Han Ji-yul.
“Lee Sang-hyeon is a character who had crush on Ahn Ja-yougn for a long time therefore there are a lot of scenes where he goes on a war of nerves with Han Ji-yul.” adding “Although I have never had crush in my life, but throughout acting I fell deeper into the character that I was acting so I felt jealousy towards Han Ji-yul.” stated actor Baek Seong-chel throughout the online press conference.
