SEOUL, Aug. 4 (Yonhap) -- K-pop icon BoA, known as the "Star of Asia," will mark her 25th debut anniversary by releasing her 11th studio album "Crazier" on Monday, her agency SM Entertainment announced.
The album features 11 tracks, including the title track Crazier, along with self-composed songs such as It Takes Two and How Could. A fan-dedicated track titled Clockwise also appears, offering a heartfelt tribute to fans who have stood by her for a quarter-century.
“This meaningful album commemorates BoA’s 25 years in music,” said SM Entertainment. “It encapsulates her musical journey while serving as a bridge connecting the emotions and stories she has shared with her fandom, Jumping BoA. The album spans a range of genres from dance tracks to emotional ballads.”
BoA debuted in 2000 at the age of 14 with "ID; Peace B," and entered the Japanese market the following year. Known for her flawless live vocals even amid intense choreography, BoA achieved major success in Japan—then the world’s second-largest music market—with two million-selling albums. She is widely credited with spearheading the K-pop wave in Japan.
Reflecting on the milestone, BoA shared, “The 25th anniversary doesn’t feel particularly different, but sometimes I do think, ‘Has it really been 25 years already?’” She added, “It’s been five years since my last full-length album Better, and I wanted to showcase aspects of myself and vocal tones that I hadn’t shared yet. I’ve prepared a variety of things, and I hope fans will enjoy them.”
