SEOUL, April 18 (Yonhap) -- British rock band Coldplay on Friday released a new version of their song “We Pray” featuring K-pop girl group TWICE, with Korean lyrics partially sung by the group.

According to Warner Music Korea, the song — originally featured on Coldplay’s latest album Moon Music — now includes vocals by TWICE, who sing select lines in Korean. The original version featured British rapper Little Simz and singer-songwriter Elyanna.

Coldplay first unveiled the collaborative performance with TWICE during their live concert held at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex on Apr. 16. TWICE also appeared as special guests, opening the show ahead of Coldplay’s headline set.

“We’re honored to have collaborated on a song that delivers a message of hope and peace,” TWICE said in a statement. “It was even more meaningful for us to record our parts in Korean.”

The band’s Korea tour has garnered attention not only for the high-profile collaboration with TWICE but also for its sustainability efforts. The concert venue banned single-use plastics and encouraged the use of reusable water bottles.

The group also implemented eco-friendly energy solutions, such as kinetic floors that generate electricity when fans jump or dance, and “power bikes” that produce power through pedaling.

Coldplay collected the LED wristbands distributed to audience members after the concert, with digital displays showing real-time return rates by city to encourage higher collection rates. Korean fans actively participated, sharing messages on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) such as “Let’s hit a 100% return rate!” and “Remind others around you to return their wristbands.”

Coldplay’s Korea tour consists of six performances and will run through April 25.
