'Pachinko' Season 2 to Premiere in Theaters via Lotte Cinema GV

SEOUL, Aug. 14 (Yonhap) -- Lotte Cinema announced on the 14th that it will screen the first episode of Pachinko Season 2, an Apple TV+ original drama, at the World Tower Superplex Theater on the 22nd. 

Following the screening, a GV (Guest Visit) session will be held with lead actors Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, Jung Eun-chae, and Kim Sung-kyu in attendance.

Lotte Cinema expressed excitement, noting, "The special screening for Season 1 of Pachinko received an overwhelming response from the audience. We hope viewers will once again fully immerse themselves in the drama in the theater setting."

Based on the novel of the same name by Korean-American author Min Jin Lee, Pachinko tells the story of four generations of a Korean immigrant family who leave Korea before and after liberation to settle in Japan and the United States.

Season 1 was highly acclaimed, winning awards such as Best Foreign Language Series at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards and Best Long Form Series at the 32nd Gotham Awards.

Season 2, set to be officially released on the 23rd, takes place in Osaka in 1945, depicting the reunion of Sunja (played by Kim Min-ha) and Hansu (played by Lee Min-ho), along with the introduction of new characters.
