aespa Wins 'Group of the Year' at Billboard Women in Music

SEOUL, Feb. 13 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group aespa and BLACKPINK’s Jennie have been named winners at the prestigious Billboard Women in Music awards, Billboard announced Monday (local time).

 

According to the official list of honorees, aespa will receive the Group of the Year award. Billboard highlighted the group’s achievements, stating, “aespa is expanding the scale of their world tour alongside the release of their full-length album Armageddon.”

 

Jennie has been recognized with the Global Force Award, given to influential figures who have made significant contributions to the music industry. Billboard acknowledged her success both as a BLACKPINK member and as a solo artist.

 

Billboard Women in Music is an annual ceremony that honors female artists, creators, producers, and executives who have had a major impact on the music industry. Previous K-pop winners include TWICE in 2023 and NewJeans in 2024.

 

This year’s honorees also include Erykah Badu, Gracie Abrams, Meghan Trainor, and Tyla. The awards ceremony is set to take place on March 29 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
