SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Yonhap) -- A former Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) employee accused of attempting to sell a hat of BTS' Jungkook online admitted to allegations during a police investigation.

Seoul Police Station announced on Monday that it has concluded investigation on the former employee and is currently under discussion of what to charge her with.

The station has previously requested the agency to confirm that the hat belongs to Jungkook, and the agency Hybe confirmed that Jungkook had lost his hat at the ministry around the period.

Former employee may be punished for embezzlement of lost articles if he admits his doing. The charge can be imprisonment for under a year or fine of less than 3,0000,000 won.

In Oct. 17, the seller uploaded a post explaining that the singer had left the hat while visiting to get a passport and was selling at 10,000,000 won.

He claimed to be working at the South Korean Foreign Ministry and stated that he had obtained legal ownership over the hat as he had reported the lost hat but the singer had not made a call or look for it in six months.

However, the controversy aroused when the police nor the ministry received any report about the lost hat.

The former employee then deleted the post and turned himself in at a police station in Yongin, Gyeonggi, and returned the head. The case has been assigned to Seoul Seocho Police Station, which has jurisdiction over southern Seoul's Seocho District where the Passport Division is located. The former employee also explained during the police investigation that he had already quit working for the MOFA.
