SEOUL, August 9 (Yonhap) – Hollywood animation “Minions: The Rise of Gru” surpassed cumulative viewers of 2 million on Tuesday, its distribution company Universal Pictures announced.

“Minions: The Rise of Gru,” which was released July 20, has been maintaining the top spot at the box office, continuing the highest S.Korean box office record among animations released this year.

“Minions: The Rise of Gru” is about three minions Kevin, Stewart, and Bob on a journey to save kidnapped miniboss Gru. Previous series “Minions,” released in 2015, recorded cumulative viewers of 2.62 million.
