Gen Z female soloist COII debuts with single 'typing'

SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Yonhap) -- Rookie female solo artist COII will make her debut at noon Thursday with her first single “typing,” her agency said.

According to Broken Hearts Social Club, “typing” portrays the hesitation and sincerity of repeatedly writing and deleting messages through the night amid a looming breakup. Acoustic guitar accompaniment and COII’s whisper-like vocals amplify the song’s lyrical mood.

Through her debut track, COII draws on the intimate vulnerability shared by herself and others of her generation as a musical foundation. Rather than polished perfection, she aims to candidly depict fragile self-portraits marked by absence and emotional scars through easy-listening sounds.

“What makes us love one another is not perfection, but the shortcomings we willingly reveal,” COII said. “I want to be an artist like a friend — someone you can openly talk to about what you like and dislike, and what you want to do and hope to become.”

COII plans to continue releasing songs showcasing a wide range of musical colors, starting with “typing.”
