SEOUL September 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean drama about challenges former idol member faces as he opens up a mart, “Idol Boss Mart” (Literal Translation” finished its casting with famous upcoming actors, actresses and well known actors with affiliation to music industry.
Producing company, The Great Show addressed on September 27, that actor Xiumin from K-pop boy group EXO, MonstaX’s Hyungwon, actress Choi Jeong-wun, actor Choi Won-myung, and more have been casted to star on the upcoming production.
“Idol Boss Mart” deals with the story of a former member of an idol group Thunder Boys which got dismantled due to an unfortunate incident acquires a mart at the brink of bankruptcy.
South Korean actor Lee shin-young will act out protagonist Choi Ho-rang, the former leader of the idol group Thunder Boys. Despite of his blunt personality, he cares a lot about his team members who acquires a mart instead of his unpaid salary.
Xiumin, of K-pop boy group EXO who is celebrating his 10 th anniversary of debut will act out the character Shin Tae-ho, a main dancer character who ends up working as a cashier of the “Boram Mart.” Although Shin Tae-ho was born into a wealthy family, therefore he is very self centered, he cares a lot about his friends and members.
MonstaX’s Hyungwon will act out Jo Yi-joon, a main rapper born with talent, who is extraverted and very outgoing. Throughout the series, Jo Yi-joon works at the seafood section of the “Boram Mart.” Continuing on actress Choi Jung-woon will act out part time worker Oh Ye-rim.
Actor Choi Won-myeong will act out Eun Young-min, a lead vocal of Thunder Boys, who works at the meat section of the Boram Mart. And actor Lee Sae-on known for his appearance in “Produce 101 season 2” will act out the youngest member of the Thunder Boys, Yoon Sang-woo.
“Idol Boss Mart” is expected to air in 2023, and details of the drama has not be confirmed yet.
