SEOUL, March 21 -- J-Hope of BTS is set to release his new digital single “Mona Lisa” at 1 p.m. today, according to his agency BigHit Music.

This marks his second new track in just two weeks, following “Sweet Dreams”, which was released on March 7.

J-Hope described the song as “easy and fun to listen to, with witty lyrics and playful elements like various sound effects.” He added, “If you pay attention to those details, you’ll enjoy it even more.”

Named after Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic masterpiece, “Mona Lisa” is an R&B hip-hop track that serves as a tribute to an irresistibly charming person. The song blends groovy rhythms, funky chords, and a refreshing sound to create a dynamic listening experience.

“This is my first performance-focused track in a while,” J-Hope explained. “I thought of ARMY (BTS’ fandom), who love my performances, and wanted to prepare something as a gift for them. I’m really excited about it.”

Recalling the creative process, he shared, “At first, I loved the song, but I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. However, after working on it in Los Angeles and adjusting it to suit my style, I was surprised at how well it fit me. The visual concept naturally came together, and I was very satisfied with the result.”

J-Hope emphasized the effort put into the song, saying, “It took multiple revisions to perfect, and I wanted to show a different side of myself through it. I worked on it with joy, thinking about the day I could share it with ARMY. Now that the moment has arrived, I’m truly happy. I sincerely thank and love all the ARMYs who trust and wait for me.”

Following the release, J-Hope will showcase the first performance of "Mona Lisa" on YouTube’s Studio Choom at 6 PM on March 22. He will then continue his solo world tour, "Hope on the Street," with performances at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City on March 22-23 (local time).
