SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- Park Bo-gum, Kim So-hyun, and Oh Jung-se will team up in JTBC's new action-crime series 'Good Boy,' set to air later this year.
JTBC announced the casting lineup for 'Good Boy' on the 31st. The drama is a comic action crime series that follows medalists who become police officers through a special recruitment program, taking on the world with their police badges.
Park Bo-gum will play Yoon Dong-ju, a patrol officer in the special crime team who becomes a police officer through the reinstated medalist special recruitment program after 11 years. With his innate physical strength and fists, he rose to fame in boxing, winning a gold medal, and now embarks on his second life as a police officer, dedicated to justice.
Kim So-hyun will portray Ji Han-na, a shooting gold medalist and a corporal in the special crime team. Oh Jung-se will play Min Joo-young, a customs officer with a hidden ambition behind his friendly smile.
Lee Sang-yi will play Sergeant Kim Jong-hyun, a former fencing silver medalist who became a police officer due to an injury. He wields his baton like a sword to subdue criminals. Heo Sung-tae will appear as Go Man-sik, a wrestling bronze medalist and the team leader of the special crime team. Tae Won-seok will play Shin Jae-hong, a discus throw bronze medalist and a corporal in the special crime team.
The drama is directed by Shim Na-yeon, known for 'Monster' and 'Bad Mother,' and written by Lee Dae-il, the writer of the 'Life on Mars' and 'Chief of Staff' series.
The production team stated, "A thrilling and intense drama that will shatter the cold and stifling reality is coming to the living room."
