SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- "'Blue' embodies various emotions like excitement, longing, and hope, just like the night sky. We hope listeners can relate by recalling their own 'blue' moments," said Zhang Hao of K-pop boy group ZEROBASEONE.

The group has returned with their latest track BLUE, capturing the many emotions of youth.

At the showcase for their fifth mini-album BLUE PARADISE, held at Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Seoul on Monday, the group expressed their desire to be recognized for their vibrant and youthful energy.

"With this album, we want to showcase a refreshing side of ourselves and earn the title of 'Radiant Youth,'" they said.

Following their previous release CINEMA PARADISE, BLUE PARADISE arrives six months later, conveying the message that even moments of sadness are a part of life, and our struggles shine beautifully through them.

Kim Jiwoong explained, "The album captures emotions like sadness, anxiety, obsession, and growing pains as we search for the perfect 'Blue Paradise.' We’ve presented it as a mysterious game-like story, making it enjoyable to listen to."

The album consists of six tracks, including the title song BLUE, a reinterpretation of 2000s pop music Devil Game, and the pre-released track Doctor! Doctor!. Additionally, for the first time since their debut, the group introduces three unit songs: Out of Love, Step Back, and Cruel.

Park Gunwook shared, "With every comeback, we strive to show something new. For the unit songs, we carefully considered how to highlight each member's individuality."

The title track BLUE blends a refreshing synthesizer sound with the members’ harmonious vocals, composed by renowned songwriter KENZIE, known for her work at SM Entertainment.

Zhang Hao proudly stated, "While working on this song, I was told my vocal skills had improved, which made me happy. Since this is our second time collaborating with the composer, I believe the outcome turned out even better."

As ZEROBASEONE approaches their second anniversary in April, they reflected on their continuous growth through past activities, including their first world tour, TIMELESS WORLD, which took them to eight different cities last year.

Han Yujin remarked, "Everything felt new and unfamiliar at first, but I grew a lot through our performances. Personally, transitioning from my teens to my twenties alongside our fans has been an honor."

With unwavering determination, the group promised to continue giving their all on stage, aiming to be a group that fans cherish and love.

"Our bright smiles, passion for the stage, and unmatched energy are what make us appealing to fans. We will continue to perform with enthusiasm and dedication," said Sung Hanbin.
