SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Yonhap) – The grand prize of the 2021 MBC Drama Awards went to S. Korean actor Namkoong min(43).
Namkoong min has won the grand prize at “2021 MBC Drama Awards,” which was held at MBC Open Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on Dec. 30.
In his speech, Namkoong min said, "I participated in the MBC Drama Awards a long time ago and I felt numb when I went home and lay down after congratulating other actors at the ceremony,” adding, "I sincerely thank you for giving me such a big award after a long time has passed."

Referring to the production staffs of "The Veil,” he said, "I spent a lot of time filming one scene so I was disappointed that I needed a little more time," adding, "But thanks to all the staffs and actors who participated, I was able to wrap up the drama well.”
He broke down to tears, referring to the fellow actors, saying, "When I went to the shooting site under stress because I had to prepare so many things, I could cheer up thanks to all the lovely actors in their characters of “The Veil.”
Namkoong min added thanks to his girlfriend Jin Ah-reum, S. Korean model and actress, “Thank you for always being by my side, I love you.”
Namkoong min, who played the role of Han Ji-hyeok, the ace of the National Intelligence Service, in "The Veil," drew attention with his new body shape after gaining 14 kilograms for his role. He was once again evaluated as the "trustworthy actor" for his high-level action scenes and acting talents.
“The Red Sleeve,” the MBC miniseries drama with the highest ratings this year, stood out at the awards ceremony on Thursday.
“The Red Sleeve” has won a total of 7 awards, including “Drama of the Year,” “Top Excellence Award, Actor·Actress in a Miniseries,” and “Best Couple Award.” “The Veil," which led the revival of MBC dramas, has also won 5 awards, including the “Grand Prize” and “Excellence Award in a Miniseries.”
