SEOUL, Dec. 18 (Yonhap) -- Song Min-ho of K-pop boy group WINNER has been accused of inadequately fulfilling his duties as a social service agent.
His agency, YG Entertainment, has denied the allegations on Tuesday, asserting that he has adhered to the regulations.
The music industry was abuzz after Dispatch reported suspicions about Song’s service at a public facility in Seoul, where he is completing his alternative military duty. The outlet claimed that Song traveled abroad in October and had not been seen fulfilling his duties since then. The facility reportedly stated that Song was either on "medical leave," "annual leave," or "hospitalized" during the questioned periods.
Song began his mandatory service as a social service agent in March last year and is scheduled to be discharged on the 23rd of this month.
In response to the allegations, YG Entertainment commented, "We cannot confirm detailed information about the artist’s service," but clarified, "The medical leave was an extension of treatment he had been receiving prior to his service, and all other leave, including vacation days, was used in compliance with regulations."
