SEOUL, April 15 (Yonhap) -- Jin of K-pop supergroup BTS will release his second solo mini album titled Echo at 1 p.m. on May 16, his agency BigHit Music announced Monday.
The upcoming release marks Jin's return roughly six months after his first solo album Happy, which came out in November last year.
“Jin made the decision to return quickly out of his desire to connect with fans more frequently,” the agency said in a statement.
Echo explores the resonance of life’s many moments, likened to echoes that take on different forms. The album candidly yet playfully captures universal emotions and experiences through Jin’s unique lens.
The EP will feature a total of seven tracks.
Earlier in the day, Jin teased his comeback through a surprise video shown on the K-pop Square media façade at Coex in Seoul’s Gangnam district. In the video, he is seen holding a placard revealing the album’s release date.
BigHit Music explained the promotional campaign was designed “to creatively share news of Jin’s return with more fans and to build excitement in a fun and engaging way.”
The teaser video will continue to be screened every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily through April 19.
