SEOUL, October 4 (Yonhap) -- Movie "Confidential Assignment 2: International" starring Hyunbin and Yoo Hae-jin topped the weekend box office chart for four consecutive weeks, ahead of the newly released movies.
According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Saturday, "Confidential Assignment 2: International" topped the box office chart by attracting 437,000 audiences during the weekend and the national holiday (September 30 until October 3).
It has been 27 days since the movie was released and the cumulative audience is 621 million 3 thousand people up to October 3.
Although "Confidential Assignment 2: International," released on September 7, has been showing a long run of success, winning back the first place at the box office twice, it is seen that it will not be able to go beyond the record of the previous work, which had a cumulative audience of 781 million.
The comedy movie "Honest Candidate 2," starring Ra Mi-ran as the main character, ranked second, attracting a 340,000 audience in a short period of time. The movie was released on September 28 and topped the box office. It was selected as a competitor for "Confidential Assignment 2: International," but it was pushed aside and is currently staying in second place.
The juke-box musical movie "Life is Beautiful", starring Ryu Seung-ryong and Yeom Jung-ah, which was released on the same day, has attracted 338,000 viewers and is ranked third.
With 209,000 and 131,000 viewers, respectively, the new animated films "Crayon Shin-chan: School Mystery! The Splendid Tenkasu Academy" and "Hello Carbot the Movie: The Secret of the Suspicious Magic Troupe" were ranked fourth and fifth.
