SEOUL, May 10 (Yonhap) -- A special event offering the opportunity to taste royal cuisine and experience traditional performances and games will take place in the kitchen area of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
The Cultural Heritage Administration's Gyeongbokgung Palace Management Office and the Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation announced on the 10th that the "Sugagan Tasting Experience" event will be held from the 22nd to the 30th in the kitchen zone of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
The kitchen area, known as "Sojubang," was where palace cuisine was prepared in the past. In the "Ansujubang," or inner kitchen, daily meals served to the king and queen, such as morning soup, were prepared, while the "Oesujubang," or outer kitchen prepared dishes for royal banquets.
The tasting experience event consists of programs, "the Nocturn Saenggwabang," and "Sikdorak," or Gastronomy.
In the "Nocturn Saenggwabang" program, participants can enjoy various desserts while listening to traditional Korean music performances in the Saenggwabang, where desserts for the king's dessert were made.
